My little Orators
This effervescent young lady has had it tough with a lot of her school work this year. She has struggled with confidence issues which have affected her work - especially maths. She is receiving some tutoring and is doing better. This sort of achievement is a massive boost to her self esteem and well earned too...she is a natural! Confident, funny and captivating. I love watching my kids giftings and talents unfold, especially in the midst of difficulties in other areas.
As for Lethal Ethan...this young man considers maths a hobby. He processes numbers like a machine and practically wets himself in anticipation of solving a mathematical problem LOL. He is also a great reader and is very naturally adept at school work.
He too is funny and often gregarious, yet much more reserved, so it totally surprised me to receive the letter today announcing his semi final placing in the year one public speaking competition! I am so excited. I now get to spend a fair portion of two days watching the final rounds next week. I'll let you know what happens :)
I will never know how my children got to be such good talkers *rolls eyes*.

Look at me, Look at me!!!!
Lovely microsatin ruby red finish, 3 gig of Ram, super speedy processor, crystal clear screen....*sigh*...heaven.
You should have seen me choosing a colour. It didn't help that my DH stood there shuffling from one foot to another sighing and rolling his eyes.
"Is the colour really important"? He asked....."Are you insane"? I responded. Why get nice when you can have fabulous!! As it is I love the red :)
Now all I need is a lovely new laptop bag...........wonder if DH will want to come with me hehe.

WARNING - VENT COMING>>>>>>>
One point I'd like to bring up is the bringing of a child to a night time crop. If you have a child that is sick with a raging fever and has the cough of a tuberculosis sufferer or a 3 pack a day smoker, please leave her at home. Besides the fact that these crops are for adults only and you brought her anyway, she coughed and spluttered into the atmosphere for almost 10 hours :( Not so good!
Here are a few layouts from yesterday...this is Lethal Ethan in a lovely recent photo. His top teeth are just about ready to fall out and this may be the last photo of those lovely little baby teeth before the adult tombstones move in.
This little brag book is for one of our school teachers who is becoming a Granny for the first time very soon. She can put photos of her new grand-daughter in there to bring to school to show off...I have made a few things for her before so I know she'll love this :)
This layout is Miss Piper (my niece) on her 6th birthday. Isn't she so cute! Love those little cheekbones and baby teeth. Lots of bling here!
Miss Jenna again mith Mikaela walking hand in hand near the lake. These Heidi Swapp papers are very cute but sure are hard to use!
I love this photo of my other little niece, Piper, with my Dad (Poppy).
This is a DT layout of my Mum and her Mum. Nanna recently visited from South Australia and I took some photos of them together.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that....
I have been AWOLfor a couple of weeks almost as I have been flat out...horizontal even! I attended the LSBS retreat in Sydney the weekend before last and had an absolute blast. Meeting so many of the LSBS Ladies and seeing the ones I already know and love was so exciting and super hilarious.
Unfortunately I arrived in Sydney feeling a little less than well. By Friday night I had no voice (and a rather unfortunate rattle in my chest) and by the time I flew home on Sunday I was a bit of a mess. I have spent the last week or so recuperating and getting better. Rich has taken on a heap of the household tasks and has been so good to me.
Just when things were looking up, I go and develop an abcess in my jaw....not so fun. I spent the weekend quite stoned on various painkillers and antibiotics to attack this awful lump and am finally feeling half human again. I haven't been sick for a while and I sure got a good dose the last few weeks.
I am out of the drug haze (mostly...my spelling and punctuation will tell) and getting back into routine.
In the midst of all this illness my beautiful niece Jenna turned 6...how cute and self satisfied is she with her cake LOL...so cute.
Here is some recent scrapping I have done. Some of it I did at the retreat (little to be honest) and some I hadn't shared yet.
This photo of Piper (my niece) is from March but I hadn't scrapped it until recently -
Here's one of my boys and my cousin's little guy Bailey in North Queensland...
This layout is a DT page for LSBS this month using the lovely MME paper packs. They have die cuts and 9 sheets of PP for less than $12...bargain!
Here are my gorgeous boys at the park. I did a digi layout with this photo a few weeks back but wanted to scrap it on paper too. This one is from the retreat.
Another retreat layout...this one was the pick for DT layout of the weekend. I love this photo and have been wantitng to scrapit for a few months. Love this October Afternoon paper range!
Miss Mikaela and that hat. This layout was for last weekends Cybercrop at LSBS. I challenged the girls to make little paper pieced animals/birdies/critters for their layouts and cards.
Another DT project using MME journaling cards. These make a lovely little mini album with as little as a few scraps of PP, some photos and some rub-ons. Cold laminating with little pouches, a ring and some ribbons and you are done.
Lots to do around here so I better get moving. DH is good, but not that good. The laundry basket resembles Mount Washmore and there are a few things in the fridge that Kitchen Crimes would be interested in.

AAAAAAaaaaaaaagghhhhh!!!!
I have coins for drinks and games, magazines for the plane, Nurofen for the head and slippers for the feet. That's about all I foresee needing. The scrap stash is packed...of course I'll bring more home!
I'm ready.............................see you when I get back :)

And then there were.......
Day left until the LSBS retreat!! Serious panic is setting in. I haven't got all the photos I need, I can only find one bedsock and I am having bag issues.
*sigh* Things will be better in the morning ;)

There are only.......
This is my crew on the way to the Qld Roar match yesterday. How hilarious are they? As appealing as donning an ithchy orange wig and sitting in the sun for a couple of hours was, I decided to sacrifice and stay home alone...in the quiet...in my slippers.
It was rough I tell you.
